Intel’s 25.20.100.6519 HD Graphics Driver Is Up For Grabs

Intel first started publishing an updated set of drivers aimed at Windows 10 back in November, which are optimized for the Universal Windows Platform (UWP). First referred to as Windows Modern Drivers or Universal Windows Drivers, they're now simply being referred to as DCH Drivers, and the company has just released version 25.20.100.6519.

Normally I would just re-image and think nothing more of it. However it has happened to a second laptop in a very short amount of time. The first one we just swapped out with another one that was already imaged (with the same image), as we thought it was a one off issue. So far no issues with the replacement one. So I've been uninstalling programmes, making sure drivers are the very latest, ran all the virus/root kit/malware scans possible, uninstalled the windows updates that installed after I deployed it to the user. I uninstalled LogMeIn and the graphics sorted themselves out during the uninstall, then once the uninstall wizard ended the graphics reverted back to what you see above. IBM notes shows all images with the white crosses in them. Or even cuts then in half diagonally.

Yes, we had basically the same thing happen a few weeks ago. We image with MDT and it was on an HP ProBook 450 G6. We've imaged a ton of these and this graphic issue appeared out of nowhere on one PC. The solution that we found worked was just an older version of the driver. We rolled back to a working one (25.20.100.6519 is working for us now) and the problem went away.

Grab HP Softpaq Download Manager Opens a new window Opens a new window and install it on the computers in question. Plug in your OS build when prompted then click "Show This Computer" to reveal any out-of-date or missing drivers. You don't need all of the ones suggested. Just focus on the graphics-related ones. Others you should install include: "System Default Settings for Windows 10", "Essential System Updates for Microsoft Windows 10" and anything tagged as "Driver Pack" for your model. Also, if you are using a dock, check to see if there is a firmware update for it. Do the BIOS update if available as well.

This is basically what we're experiencing. It appears to be the graphics driver. Something on the laptop and the latest driver is causing the issue. I've just uninstalled the graphics driver again and the issue disappears. As soon as I install a driver from this year, either HP or intel the issue comes back. At the moment it's using a driver from October 2018 (from Intel) and the issue is no longer there.

I'd have to check the image as to what version was put on. But I've just seen HP have today released a firmware update for the BIOS. So I may run that and the latest graphics drivers to see if that is another solution.

It was more if I have time. Out of the 30 or so we have, this has happened on two of them. You're right though about the BIOS. We'll update the BIOS on them for sure, and if the issue re-occurs we know which graphics driver works. But right now I have more pressing issues. 350c69d7ab
